Parents play an important role in managing nutritional intake to support children's growth and development. To ensure that children grow up healthy, parents need to know the signs of whether their children's nutritional intake is sufficient. According to Yustina Ani Indriastuti, Vice Chairperson of the Indonesian Medical Nutrition Association (PDGMI) and a nutrition specialist, here are some signs that children's nutrition has been fulfilled:

  1. Age-appropriate Height and Weight
Adequate and nutritious food intake has a big effect on children's height and weight. Parents can monitor their child's growth through growth curves and body mass index (BMI) to ensure that their child's weight and height are within a healthy range for their age.

  2. Strong and Full Body
Nutritious food plays an important role in building strong muscles and a full body. With proper nutrition, children will be more energetic and able to move freely and actively.

  3. Proportional and Sturdy Posture
Children who get proper nutrition will have a straighter and more proportional posture. Nutrients from foods that contain protein, minerals, and vitamins are essential for bone growth and ideal body formation.

  4. Moist and Healthy Skin
The content of vitamin A, vitamin E, and zinc in children's food plays a role in maintaining skin moisture. Children who get balanced nutrition will have more moisturized skin and not dry easily.

  5. Healthy and Strong Hair
One of the signs of a healthy child is having healthy and strong hair. Adequate nutritional intake plays a role in optimal hair growth, as well as maintaining its strength and beauty.

  6. Clear and Bright Eyes
Children who get balanced nutrition will have sharp eyesight. One of the signs of a healthy child is clear and sparkling eyes, which indicates that the nutrition received by the child supports eye health.

  7. Cheerful and Responsive
A cheerful, active and responsive child is an indication that their carbohydrate and iron needs are met. Nutritional deficiencies, especially iron, can make children look lethargic and passive. Make sure your child gets enough carbohydrates and iron to maintain their energy and responsiveness.

  8. Restful Sleep and Smooth Digestion
Children who get nutritious and regular meals will have smooth digestion. This also affects the quality of sleep of the child, who will sleep well and wake up fresh and fit.

By paying attention to the signs above, parents can ensure that their children's nutrition is well fulfilled to support optimal growth and development. Don't forget to always provide balanced nutritious food to keep your children healthy and cheerful every day.
