PT BNI Life Insurance (BNI Life) is targeting the premium income of the Sharia Business Unit (UUS) to reach Rp 689 billion throughout 2024. This figure shows BNI Life Syariah's optimism amidst volatile market conditions.

Although in the first quarter of 2024, UUS BNI Life recorded premium income of Rp 188 billion, slightly lower than the same period last year, BNI Life believes that the positive trend will be repeated in the following quarters.

Acting. President Director of BNI Life, Eben Eser Nainggolan, said that this contribution figure has decreased due to market turmoil which is still wait and see, but BNI Life is optimistic that it will record an increase in the second quarter of 2024.

“BNI Life Syariah Unit is optimistic that it will have increased business growth compared to 2023 by optimizing market potential for both individual and group products,” Eben told Kontan.co.id, Friday (14/6).

For information, throughout 2023, BNI Life, posted premium income of Rp 675.6 billion or grew by around 18% compared to the same period the previous year.

Eben hopes that this year, the contribution of sharia premiums can be supported by positive sentiments such as an increase in people's purchasing power and increased public literacy in the sharia economy.
