PT BNI Life Insurance (BNI Life) recorded a net profit of IDR 129.6 billion in the first half of 2023.
This figure grew by 17 percent year on year (YoY) compared to the same period last year.
Acting CEO of BNI Life, Eben Eser Nainggolan, stated that BNI Life collected Gross Written Premium (GWP) of IDR 2.4 trillion in the same period.
Meanwhile, investment income amounted to IDR 853 billion, growing by 51.9 percent annually.
As a result, the company has a total income of IDR 3.25 trillion until the second quarter of 2023.
"We will continue the sustainable performance trend of BNI Life with innovation, conducting a healthy business, and maintaining customer trust," he said in an official statement on Thursday (3/8/2023).
He added that BNI Life's total assets in the second quarter of 2023 were IDR 24.2 trillion. The asset amount grew by IDR 1.69 trillion annually compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, BNI Life's risk-based capital (RBC) ratio stands at 689 percent, higher than the regulator's requirement of 120 percent until the first half of 2023.
"Meaning, BNI Life has the ability 6 times the total claims that must be paid if there is a risk from all policyholders," he added.
Furthermore, Eben detailed that BNI Life has paid claims and benefits amounting to IDR 2.09 trillion throughout the first half of 2023.
"In the remaining second semester, BNI Life will continue to synergize and collaborate to maintain positive and sustainable performance growth," he concluded.
