To revive the charm of the past, the Old Town area has been developed into a heritage tourism destination, revitalized, and divided into four zones: European, Chinese, Arab, and Malay. Here are some recommended tourist spots in the European Zone of the Old Town area that are perfect for your holiday visit.

  1. Toerwagen Tour of Surabaya Old Town
    Toerwagen is a special electric vehicle provided by the Surabaya City Government to make it easier for tourists to explore the Old Town area. For just IDR 20,000, visitors can enjoy a short tour of the entire area, accompanied by a tour guide who will provide historical insights.

  2. "Siropen" Telasih Soda and Syrup Factory in Surabaya
    The "Siropen" Telasih Soda and Syrup Factory, established in 1923, is Indonesia’s first syrup factory, founded by Dutch entrepreneur JC van Dronggelen. This syrup is known for using only pure cane sugar without artificial sweeteners, giving it a distinct natural sweetness. Although visitors are not yet allowed to see the production process, they can taste various syrup flavors on-site.

  3. Pos Bloc Surabaya
    Pos Bloc Surabaya, located on Jalan Kebon Rojo, is a creative space that connects art and culture with the community. It also serves as a gathering and collaboration hub for local artists. This building has historical significance as the former school of Ir. Soekarno and now frequently hosts various exhibitions, including a Soekarno memorial exhibition that is free for the public.

  4. Red Bridge (Jembatan Merah)
    Red Bridge, built in 1809 under Governor-General Daendels, is a symbol of the struggle of Surabaya's people against colonial forces.
