An adequate sleep is very important for anyone, especially children who are still in their infancy. Not just sleeping at night, napping is also important for children because it provides benefits for their physical health and mood.

While children are growing and developing, naps give their bodies and minds time to rest and recharge. Moreover, if children are too tired, it will be more difficult for them to sleep easily at night.

According to halodoc.com research, there are no rules about how much naps that children needs. It all depends on the child's age and total sleep over a 24-hour period. Children can spend 1 to 3 hours of naps during the day and it’s adjusted to their night's sleep so that the child's total sleep time is not less or even excess. Nevertheless, the recommended ideal time is only 1 to 1.5 hours.

Here are the benefits of napping for your little one:

1. Help your little one learn

Based on a study of preschool children reported by fimela.com found that napping habits can help them play better at memory games.

2. Help your little one in shape

The halodoc.com research shows that children who don't get enough sleep or who sleep irregularly tend to have higher rates of obesity because children tend to eat more when they don't get enough sleep. Furthermore, children also tend to choose foods that are not very healthy when they sleep irregularly.

3. Boost your little one's mood

Quoting from halodoc.com states that “children who skip naps cause them to be less happy, more anxious, and have a worse reaction to frustrating events”. Therefore, if the child's body feels comfortable and fit, they will be better at controlling their emotions when dealing with unpleasant events.
